Tour de Stooges Returns to Highland

St. Louis, Missouri (December 16, 2008) -- The 12th Annual Tour de Stooges, sponsored by the Gateway Council of Hostelling International, returns to Highland, Ill., after a widely successful year in 2008.

Last year was the Tour de Stooges' first year in Highland after 10 successful years at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill.

“As much as we dreaded moving the ride from Lebanon to Highland, it was the best move for the long-term future of the Tour de Stooges,” Ride Coordinator Roger Kramer said. “Cygan-Delaney did an amazing job with the food, and people were happy with the facilities at Lindendale Park."

The 2009 Tour de Stooges will be Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Lindendale Park in Highland. The 2009 Tour includes your choice of scenic routes of 15, 22, 31, 42 and 64 miles, rest stop snacks, lunch provided by Cygan-Delaney Catering of Highland, and for your post-ride entertainment, Three Stooges movies at the pavillions at Lindendale Park.

Prices for the Tour de Stooges are $30 for adults and $20 for children. Riders who pre-register receive a free T-shirt. T-shirts can also be ordered the day of the ride for $25. Day of registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at Lindendale Park; pre-registered riders can also pick up their maps and other materials there.
